Australian & New Zealand Urological and Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials Group (ANZUP Pty Ltd)

Research. Trials. Outcomes. ANZUP conducts clinical trial research to improve treatment of Bladder, Kidney, Testicular and Prostate Cancers

ANZUP Clinical Trials GroupThe Australian and New Zealand Urological and Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials Group (ANZUP Pty Ltd) was formed in 2008 to facilitate the implementation of clinical trials for prostate cancer and other urological cancers within Australia and New Zealand.

Radiation oncology trials of international repute for these cancers have been ongoing for some time, but other medical oncology trials, like those currently underway in North America or Europe, have not been available here.

The Directors of APCRC–Q, Profs Nelson and Clements, and Prof Russell, are founding members of ANZUP. Through close collaboration with this group, the APCRC–Q is able to be involved in all clinical trials for prostate cancer that are initiated in Australia, and any clinical trials that the APCRC–Q initiates in the future can be expanded nationally through ANZUP.

Profs Nelson and Russell remain on the Scientific Advisory and, along with Prof Clements, are involved in the prostate cancer subcommittee. Prof Nelson has chaired the Translational Committee, and Prof Russell was the Secretary of the ANZUP Board until 2010.
