Precision medicine in advanced prostate cancer

Precision medicine is the notion of treating each patient (in this setting with metastatic prostate cancer) on the basis of targetable, response or resistance mutations identified and/or in vitro drug sensitivities specific to the individual case with the aim of improving outcomes due to the right treatments, at the right time, in the right patient.

The aims of this project are:

  1. Identification and biopsy of metastatic lesions using PSMA PET for in vitro culture.

  2. In vitro culture and amplification of prostate cancer metastases and circulating tumour cells.

  3. Utilization of organoid cultures for precision medicine in prostate cancer
