Circulating long noncoding RNA as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for prostate cancer

As circulating Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are emerging as highly promising diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers, we hypothesise that analysis of prostate cancer relevant lncRNAs will lead to the identification of novel biomarkers for early diagnosis of prostate cancer and will also have discriminatory power to identify aggressive disease.

This project aims are:

  1. Analysis of prostate tumour and cell line RNAseq data to identify differentially regulated lncRNAs in aggressive prostate cancer.

  2. Evaluation of the biomarker potential of the circulating lncRNAs in early diagnosis of prostate cancer and to predict disease prognosis.
