Patsy is jointly appointed as Professor of Nursing at Queensland University of Technology, and Director for Queensland Health’s Centre for Palliative Care Research and Education, a state-wide service that was established to enhance palliative care services in Queensland through education and research. As Director for the Centre, Patsy leads a range of programs focused on developing workforce capacity in palliative care, researching priority issues in palliative care, and strengthening the nexus between research, policy and practice.
She is currently a member of the Executive Committee for Palliative Care Australia, the Board of Directors for the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care and past member of the Board of the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre.

Dr Amol Wagholikar is a project leader at the Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) and works as a Research Affiliate with the Australian Prostate Cancer Research Centre.
He is the leader of a collaborative research project aimed at developing a health-economics-based simulation model for the stages of advanced prostate cancer. The project also aims to assist with patient journey visualisation of advanced prostate cancer patients and to provide semi-automated solutions to match eligible patients to advanced prostate cancer clinical trials, using semantic technology.
Dr Wagholikar’s current research interests are information retrieval, health economic modelling, semantic technology, natural language processing (NLP) and case-based reasoning.
