Biography

Dr Rhee is a research fellow in the Department of Urology, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Australia.  He graduated from University of Queensland Medical School in 2005.  After an internship at Princess Alexandra Hospital, he entered surgical training program in 2008.  After gaining fellowship exam in specialty of Urology in 2013, he is now pursuing an academic surgery career at Queensland University of Technology.

Research interests

Dr Rhee’s interests reside with uro-oncology.  His PhD is dedicated to advancement in the field of metastatic prostate cancer.  Two special areas of interest include metabolic syndrome and its impact on development of castrate resistant prostate cancer, and molecular based imaging of prostate cancer.

  • Use of PSMA agents in Positron Emission Tomography
  • Concomitant use of metformin and androgen deprivation therapy in men diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer
  • Impact of metabolic syndrome in metastatic prostate cancer
